If you saw Wonder Woman taped to a smurf and a gang of young pirates on their way to school you don’t need an eye test - it was part of the innovative fundraising throughout Calderdale for Children in Need.
The annual charity event hosted by the BBC saw our local schools, businesses and community groups coming together to play their part.
At the Hi-Energy Gym, Wheatley, a three legged race took place running from the gym to Maggie’s Bar, Halifax, which helped set up the event.
Schoolchildren wore an array of fancy dress to mark the day at schools across the borough including Holywell Green Primary School and Bailiff Bridge Primary School.
Pupils from Park Lane Learning Trust climbed the height of a mountain at Mixenden Activity Centre and at Longroyde Junior School, Rastrick, they held stalls and activities to raise funds.
Staff at Specsavers, Cheapside, Halifax, wore non-uniform and offered a specialist glasses cleaning service for a small donation.
