A man from Halifax is going to great lengths to raise money for charity with a sponsored swim.

Paul Howarth is undertaking the challenge for Epilepsy Action, along with Martin Smith and Philippa Elmy, all of whom are users of Creative Support services in Calderdale.

Creative Support has awarded service users in Calderdale a grant of £100 so they can make banners of support for the sponsored swim.

Service users and staff will be there on the day to cheer on Paul and the team.

Paul has currently raised £168.50 and together the trio hope to swim over 250 lengths at Sowerby Bridge Pool on Friday, February 21 between 2pm and 4pm.

Paul said: “I can swim and I’d like to improve so I’m doing this sponsored swim for Epilepsy Action. I have epilepsy and want to help others like me.”

In the UK, 600,000 people have epilepsy, and 87 people are diagnosed with the condition every day.

To sponsor Paul, call Katy Wright on 07580 486942 to request a sponsorship form.
