Breast cancer survivors got their gladrags on for a charity-boosting fashion show at Cedar Court Hotel this weekend.

This was the eighth annual fashion show organised by breast care nurses at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust - to coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Patients who have been cared for by the team bravely strutted their stuff on the catwalk.

Organiser Veronica Allinson thanked local stores for the clothes, and Calderdale College students for helping with hair and make-up.

She said: “This was a tremendous night - a highlight of the year for staff and patients alike. The atmosphere was tremendous, very emotional for us all. Above all, we are delighted for our patients who make this such a special night for their families who have been through so much with them.”
One man who has had breast cancer, former scaffolder Herbie Sirmond of Illingworth, also took part this year.
