The curious incident of the Halifax poodle, that went missing for 12 days, has had a happy ending after the dog was found trapped behind a wall in Boothtown.
Darcy, the poodle, was found in Boothtown by Karl Butler who’s daughter Darcie recognised the poodle from leaflets handed out at school.
Karl, who found Darcy, said:”I noticed something sitting near the bus stop when I went to work on Sunday, so I went and looked and there was a dog but something wasn’t right. It was bothering me all day at work so I went back afterwards and the dog was still there.”
The poodle went missing on June 18 after he slipped from his collar in town.
Within hours, social media campaigns had been started by Find Harvey (Harvey’s Army), who distributed 5,000 leaflets, and Yorkshire Animals Lost and Found.
Jane Baker, owner of Darcy, said: “It was the hardest thing I have ever been through because of not knowing where he was and we were beginning to give up hope.
“We were so happy when he was found. Thank you to everyone who helped.”
