A headteacher that has had a 38 year career working at different schools around Calderdale has retired.
Rosemary Solan, headteacher of Ling Bob J,I & N School, retired on the last day of the school term but was treated to a few last surprises before she ended her career in education.
After arriving on the School’s Minibus, Rosemary was take on a trip down memory lane to the sites of previous schools throughout Calderdale where she worked, including Woodhouse, Haugh Shaw, Salterhebble and Wainstalls Primary Schools.
The trip was followed by the children of Ling Bob J,I & N School cheering and waving multi-coloured balloons in the car park.
The school hall was decorated with bunting and everyone sang a song that was secretly rehearsed.
Mrs Solan, said: “ Ling Bob is a very special school at the heart of the local community.
“I have been privileged to work with enthusiastic pupils, their families, staff, governors and colleagues from so many support services - each day has been different and I have so many wonderful memories.”
