Crowds of runners gathered at Halifax’s Trinity Academy, Shay Lane, at 09.30am to take part in either a fun 5k run or a 10k run.

The 5k race starts on Shay Lane, onto Riley Lane and then Holdsworth Road.

Starting from Shay Lane, the 10k race will then make its way to Bradshaw Lane, Green Lane, Perseverance Road, Ned Hill Road, Syke Lane, Keighley Road, Shay Lane and finishing along Holdsworth Road.

The Elland hospice asked people to take part in its annual 5k and 10k runs to raise money for the charity that offers palliative care for Calderdale men and women.
