Pupils at St John’s Primary School in Rishworth produced a memorable performance of Molly and the Pirates in their annual Easter play.
Around 60 children aged between four and seven took part in the performance.
Assistant head teacher Denise Sotnyk, who is retiring after more than 30 years at the school, said: “It had everything to do with pirates. We had walking the plank and finding treasure - it was a fantastic production.
“The parents all said it was the best they’d ever seen at the school and the children all worked really hard and thoroughly enjoyed it.
“The children are learning about St Lucia and the Caribbean in their geography classes at the moment so this tied in nicely with that.
“It was my last production before retiring and I’ve been doing them for such a long time so it was quite an emotional one for me.”
