A recovery team has been called to Halifax to assist a truck driver whose vehicle had a brush with a bridge.

At approximately 10.50am on Friday, a lorry travelling on Water Lane miscalculated the height of the railway bridge, resulting in the top of the vehicle being ripped off.

Police were called to the scene near The Shay and a team from Stoneywood is currently assisting with the recovering of the lorry.

Calderdale Council’s engineering department is assessing the condition of the bridge.
