Three men have been arrested in connection with a serious road traffic collision on Stanningley Bypass this morning.

The incident involving three vehicles - a Volkswagen Golf, Audi A3 and a MAN Truck - happened at 1am this morning.

The Golf and Audi were travelling towards Leeds when they were in collision.

The Audi then collided with the truck parked in a layby. The driver of the Audi and the passenger suffered serious injuries as a result of the incident.

The road was closed between the Pudsey roundabout and the centre of Leeds and was expected to remain closed until lunchtime today.

The men aged 30, 22, and 22 remain in police custody.

Any witnesses to the incident are asked to contact police on 101.
