Uncertainty surrounds the running of a Calderdale high school after an award winning head teacher has been replaced.

It is rumoured that Mr Taylor left his post last week but today Calderdale Council education chiefs and school governors and trustees remained tight lipped over the matter.

A Calderdale Council spokesperson said: “The head teacher of Park Lane Learning Trust is currently not in school. The deputy head has taken on their duties.”

Chair of governors Dr Pat Hill said legal implications meant she could not comment.

In 2010, Mr Taylor joined the school which has National Challenge Trust Status and links with the University of Huddersfield.

Mr Taylor, a father of three, won the North East Head Teacher of the Year title.
