Over 220 people laced up their running shoes to raise money for the Special Baby Care Unit at Calderdale Royal Hospital and Overgate Hospice.
The fifth Barkisland 5km ‘Run for a Laugh’ took place on New Year’s Day. The fun run saw competitors of all ages raise £1,600, which will be split between the two causes.
Organiser Gail Herring said: “The support and commitment is heart warming and we’re always taken aback by it. There were lots of new faces and we’re already looking forward to 2014.”
