Calderdale businesses and charities teamed up on the turf in a ‘Happydays in Halifax’ charity football tournament.
16 teams entered the eight-a-side tournament hosted at 3Gi Soccer, Shaw Lane.
The event was organised by Lloyds Banking Group’s business connector for Calderdale Gavin Morton in a bid to promote positive relations between business and charity sectors.
He said: “The aim of the evening was to raise the profile of a fantastic new business and our host for the evening 3Gi Soccer as well as an opportunity to raise money for Happydays social enterprise.”
The tournament was won on penalties by the ‘Gibbet Boys’ and £1,200 was raised for Happydays.
Happydays, based in Ovenden, aims to empower homeless people.
