Poppies will bloom at Halifax Minster to mark the centenary of World War I and to pay respect to the men who lost their lives fighting for Britain.

The Vicar of Halifax, Revd Canon Hilary Barber, and young choristers sewed the seeds in the church grounds. The idea was planted by Royal British Legion’s Centenary Poppy Appeal.

Revd Barber said: “We’re honoured to take part in the campaign and we look forward to seeing the poppies bloom and remembering all they stand for.”
