Pupils at Crossley Heath School were treated to a fantastic display of engineering feats and new technology.

The Bosch Roadshow gave them the chance to try a range of technologies and find out how everyday essentials such as heating systems, car engines and hydraulics work.

Bosch UK launched the roadshow in response to research which found that many secondary school students were not considering engineering as a future career.

James Stead, co-ordinator at Crossley Heath School, said: “The roadshow has been an invaluable way of bringing the science behind engineering to life. We hope the students have been inspired by the enthusiasm and passion of the presenters and seen the huge scope of activities offered by technology and engineering companies like Bosch and what a career in this industry can offer.”

Peter Fouquet, President of Bosch UK, added: “Engineering is a key sector in the UK and its future depends on a new generation of skilled engineers entering the industry.

“We firmly believe that the best way to get students excited by the prospects is by making engineering more fun and relevant.”
