Pupils from Ryburn Valley High School were the talk of the courtroom as they were crowned champions of the Magistrates’ Court Mock Trial Competition.
The annual event saw Hipperholme and Lightcliffe High School, North Halifax Grammar School and Brighouse High School battle it out in a mock trial at Calderdale Magistrates Court, as pupils took on the roles of lawyers, witnesses, defendants and magistrates.
Judge Peter Benson presented the prize to Ryburn who now go on to the regional finals.
