Pupils take the lead for charity

Hipperholme Grammar Schools pupils have raised over £2,000 as part of a Blind Mile Charity Event to raise money for two guide dog charities.

Senior school pupils took part in the challenge to raise funds for Canine Partners and Dogs for Good charities, which saw them walking a mile in a blindfold whilst being guided by a partner.

The Canine Partners and Dogs for Good charities aim to meet the needs of individuals with even the most complex physical disabilities who require guide dog assistance.

Jack Williams, Hipperholme Grammar School Headmaster, said: “We are always happy to support charity work that is close to the hearts of our pupils.

“And this particular challenge meant that our pupils got to experience for themselves the issues that being visually impaired can present, as well as raise vital funds for both of the chosen charities,” he added.
