Regal lovebirds flock to Shibden lake

A pair of elegant swans have settled in the grounds of Halifax’s Shibden park.

The regal lovebirds have been swanning around the lake since December.

Their unannounced arrival has been warmly received by visitors to the park especially popular with children said Shibden Park estate manager Deborah Comyn-Platt.

“In my eight years as estate manager we’ve never had swans - it’s wonderful,” said Deborah.

To make the swans feel more at home - the park estate would like the public to give the male and female swans a name.
