Rescue team marks special date

Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) opened its doors over the weekend in celebration of its 50th anniversary.

Crowds turned out to the team’s headquarters at the Rescue Post, Thrush Hill Road, Mytholmroyd on Saturday.

There was an opportunity to learn about CVSRT’s history and look at archive photographs. Visitors could also look at life-saving equipment, emergency vehicles and meet some of the search dogs.

The team said: “Thank you to all who attended our open day. It was wonderful to see so much interest in our team from the local community and beyond. It was also great to see so many retired team members as well as members of other local mountain rescue teams.”
