Halifax RLFC have launched a new lottery to raise funds for local charities.

The Calderdale Cares Lottery will offer more than 40 weekly prizes and a weekly super Saturday rollover of up to £2,000.

Weekly prizes have also been donated by businesses such as Brewers Fayre, Toby restaurant and Vue Cinema.

Lottery sales manager Richard Watmough said: “We have always prided ourselves on our work in the community and this lottery will further enhance that.

“The more people play the more we can donate so I would ask people to support us rather than the national lotteries and help us make a difference locally.”
