Children at St Mary’s Catholic school, Halifax had classes in the dark.

As part of the curriculum, 33 pupils stayed over-night at school and learnt about things that happen in the night. Staff took children outdoors to see what animals lurk. Pupils learnt about time zones and dark and light. Students even watched on as others snored.

Teacher Jemma Gordon said: “We saw foxes and badges, all the children were very excited.”
