Schools and nurseries are '˜outstanding'
Northowram Primary School on Baxter Lane was praised by Ofsted inspectors who said that the school had an “inspiring curriculum” with teachers demonstrating “excellent subject knowledge”.
The report said: “Skilful teaching ensures that pupils make rapid progress throughout Key Stages 1 and 2, so that by Year 6 attainment and progress in reading, writing and mathematics are significantly above those seen nationally.”

Hide AdHead teacher Dan Lomas said: “We are delighted to receive the ‘outstanding’ rating from Ofsted, which can be attributed to the years of hard work and commitment of everyone involved with the school.
“It reflects the spirit, ethos and ways of working of the whole school family.”
Chairman of governors Michael Booth said: “When we set out with our school vision to ‘inspire success beyond expectation’, one of our objectives was always to achieve outstanding at our next inspection.
“Now we have done this, we aim to continue to build on this success and improve our school offering still further.”

Hide AdInspectors praised the “highly motivated team’ at Ripponden Pre-School, which also received the ‘outstanding’ rating. The report added that children’s needs were “met exceptionally well”.
Manager Sharon Smith said: “We are very pleased with the outcome because the whole team and committee has worked very hard to put practices in place for the benefit of all the children.”
Pye Nest Day Nursery on Edwards Road, Halifax, and 3 Corners at Triangle Church of England Primary School were also rated outstanding by Ofsted.
