Seal of approval at Skircoat Green post office

The Skircoat Green Post Office has recieved a stamp of approval for new modernised services.

The service, which will launch on September 11 at 1pm, will include a wide range of new services including Special Delivery, Local Collect, home shopping returns, online banking cash deposits and withdrawals.

Due to the refurbishments, the post office counter will close on September 2, at 5.30pm for the refurbishments to be carried out but the newsagents itself will remain open.

Postal services will be available from Halifax Post Office and Kings Cross Road Post Office.

The post office will be open 34 hours more than previously and will include other services such as withdrawals using a Post Office card account, sending funds abroad using Moneygram, bill paying, pre-ordering travel money, applying for travel insurance and topping up mobile phones.

Jim Doran, area manager, said: “We know how important Post Office services are to residents in Halifax and we are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the community will be popular.”
