Snow update - Calderdale waste and recycling collectors out an hour early in bid to beat the snow

Snow clearing and gritting

Snow clearing and gritting

Waste and recycling collectors working in Calderdale have been out an hour early this morning in a bid to beat the snow.

Calderdale Council says collections are being carried out as normal so far and all crews out an hour earlier to try to complete before the worst of the snow arrives.

Meanwhile the council also says roads have been salted through the night and again this morning and all roads on precautionary routes are open and safe to drive.

The council says it will continue to liaise with the Met Office for forecasts throughout the day and night, so appropriate action can be taken.
