Halifax Aachen Society enjoy a walk through the vineyards of the Ahr Valley

Halifax Aachen Society visited our German twin town, Aachen. During the visit, 25 members enjoyed a Mayoress’ reception at Aachen Town Hall as well as a tour of a Emperor Charlemagne exhibition and a walk through Ahr Valley vineyards, pictured. The Society is holding a German Evening with supper, wine and presentation on August 29, from 7.30pm, at the Maurice Jagger Centre, Halifax. Tickets cost £6 call 01422 351324.

During the visit, 25 members enjoyed a Mayoress’ reception at Aachen Town Hall as well as a tour of a Emperor Charlemagne exhibition, a visit to a government bunker, a trip to Linnich Glass Museum and a walk through Ahr Valley vineyards, pictured. The Society is holding a German Evening on August 29, from 7.30pm, at the Maurice Jagger Centre, Halifax, to celebrate 65 years of links between the two towns.

The evening will include a supper of German cheeses, soup, sausage and wine as well as a presentation. Tickets cost £6 and can be obtained by contacting Neil Atkinson on 01422 351324
