Stainland Lions Running Club is again starting a beginners’ course on Monday, April 8.
Last year it attracted 120 people and is open to anybody over age 18 and of all abilities.
Lions’ spokesman John Bassinder said the club prided itself on being all-inclusive and friendly.
“In the past we have seen a complete spread of ages, fitness levels, running experience and abilities,” he said.
Following a gentle warm-up new runners can decide which running group to go out with building up from a steady walk/run pace to a more challenging pace under qualified coaches.
Course co-ordinator Rachel Whiteley joined as an absolute beginner and said the course introduced people to the joys of running, improved fitness, and is a great way to make new friends.
The seven week course every Monday from April 8 is based at the Lions’ headquarters at Heath RUFC, West Vale, with registration from 6 pm. It costs £10 for the full course.
