A PE teacher with an extraordinary throwing style has thanked his students for helping him set another world record.
Guinness has confirmed that Danny Brooks set the world record for the longest aggregate throw in at the Shay on 1 August.
Using his unique frontflip technique, Danny, a teacher at Brooksbank School in Elland, threw a football a total of 4,324.27m in an hour.
And Danny praised students for helping him achieve his goal, particularly sixth former Jake Scrimshaw, who organised the event as part of his Higher Sports Leadership Award.
Jake arranged the event to be filmed and sent off to Guinness, who have now acknowledged the record.
Danny said: “Jake did a fantastic job and worked tirelessly to ensure we broke the record. He worked out every detail of the throw because he wanted to make sure it was a success, and he and the other students should be immensley proud.”
