Sunny spells this afternoon

There will be cloud, occasional rain and some hill snow possible this morning.

It should become drier and brighter during the afternoon with lighter winds and some sunny spells.

Tonight is expected to be mainly dry with some clear spells this evening.

Overnight a band of persistent rain and strong winds will move east across the region, starting to clear by dawn.

Traffic is reported to be slow moving on the A58 Aachen Way in Halifax at the Queen’s Road junction; the Calderdale Way in both directions in Elland at the A6025 Halifax Road junction; the A629 Huddersfield Road in Halifax is busy but moving northbound between the A646 Dryclough Lane junction and the Ward’s End junction; and there is heavy traffic on the A644 Wakefield Road eastbound between Brighouse and the A62 Cooper Bridge Road junction.
