A Calderdale College music student has won the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to open a home gig for up-and-coming solo artist, Mike Dignam.
Sowerby Bridge songstress, Circe, jumped at the chance to enter a competition to hit the big time by opening shows on Mike’s forthcoming tour.
Former United Kingdom Karate champion, Circe, 17, submitted a video of herself playing an acoustic version of one of Mike’s chart successes, ‘Great Escape’.
After a shortlist of three finalists was announced, fans voted in their thousands and Circe received the fantastic news that she was to realise her dream by opening a show for Mike.
Circe said: “Less than a year ago I was stood at a gig full of fans looking up to the stage at Mike Dignam and now I have a chance to vindicate all who voted for me by being on that stage performing and I will not let them down.”
Circe now credits music for transforming her life after experiencing difficulty at senior school and will open the show for Mike Dignam on Sunday July 27t at the ‘Ruby Lounge’ in Manchester.
