More than 400 people attended the funeral of a woman who was a leader in the Girl Guiding community.
Ann Cockerill died aged 66 and was involved with Guiding for over 30 years at Christ Church, Pellon, Halifax.
She was also active at the church as a warden, baptism co-ordinator, pastoral carer and with the mothers and toddlers group.
Donations in memory of Ann will go towards new church doors.
Angela Trowell, County Commissioner, West Yorkshire West Guides, paid tribute to Ann’s work.
“She held many positions in the division and county,” said Angela.
“Ann will be greatly missed by her happy smiling face, her unflappable manner, her good cheer and sound advice and we all have a great role model to follow.”
Jenny Leach, ex-chief Guide and Vice President of the Trefoil Guild, said Ann was a true friend.
“She was everything that Guiding stands for. She had the ability to transmit that special ethos to young and old alike and she treated everyone with respect and consideration.”
Ann attended Haugh Shaw Primary and Clare Hall Secondary Schools, Halifax.
She leaves her husband Michael, who shared her interest in Guiding, son Craig and two grandchildren.
