UPDATED and VIDEO: Snow: Calderdale Council opens waste recycling centres and some waste collections resume

Calderdale Council waste collectors are out again today doing yesterday’s collections.

Teams are doing yesterday’s waste collections where it is safe to do so and people are being advised to leave their wheelie bins at collection points today.

Recycling collections have been suspended because of the snow.

All Calderdale household waste recycling centres are now open.

The council says all roads on precautionary routes have been treated and are open.

Other roads are being gritted today. Salt bins are being filled and more footpaths are being cleared.

If your home care or day care service is disrupted due to adverse weather, you will be called.

The transport service continues to operate where it is possible and safe to do so. There is likely to be disruption to other services involving transport due to snow and ice.
