Video: Man taken to hospital after car and school bus crash

A driver of Daewoo Matiz was taken to hospital after his vehicle was in collision with a blue Volvo double decker bus at Rochdale Road, Walsden.

He was cut free from the vehicle by firefighters following the collision shortly before 8.30 am today.(Mon)

Todmorden fire station crew commander Carl Fielden said the casualty was trapped in the vehicle and the roof was cut to release him.

He was taken to hospital for a precaution and not thought to have suffered any serious injury.

The bus was slightly damaged and none of the passengers, or the driver, were injured.

It was operated by Rossendale Transport and was taken children from Todmorden to Wardle Academy and the accident happened near Bellholme sports ground.

Traffic was disrupted as emergency crews dealt with the incident.
