Police have repeated advice to motorists to use common sense in the icy conditions.
Road Traffic PC Cameron Buchan early yesterday urged drivers to take extra care.
And, he has repeated his message today (Sun) after accidents at The Hough, Northowram, yesterday afternoon.
A car driver lost control and skidded down the icy surface and crashed into a parked car and damaged fencing.
And, while that incident was being dealt with there was another bump.
The cobbled road had not been gritted as it wasn’t a primary route, but Calderdale Council workmen did grit the road later yesterday after a request from police.
PC Buchan said motorists had not been heeding advice to use common sense.
“The Hough is quite a steep road and was covered in snow,” he said.
“Drivers were travelling down it hoping for the best rather than using common sense.
“There was the option not to go down The Hough.”
PC Buchan said there was black ice on the roads again early today but conditions are not as bad as yesterday.
Forecasters say there will be little change with today remaining dull and cold with a little sleet or snow in places.
Bus services to Norton Tower remain disrupted.
Again, there is possible disruption to flights to/from Leeds Bradford Airport.
Passengers are advised to check before setting off.
