The Met Office has issued a yellow warning urging motorists to be aware of ice on the roads from 5 pm into the early hours.
A combination of clear spells and light winds will allow road temperatures to fall below freezing tonight.
“This will allow icy stretches to form on untreated surfaces,” said the Met Office.
“The public are advised to take extra care and be aware of the risk of some minor travel disruption.”
In addition, further showers may wash away grit, enhancing the risk of ice formation.
