It will again be windy with sunny spells and showers - but the wind will not be a strong as yesterday.

Showers may merge to give some more persistent rain for a time in the afternoon, with snow over the hills.

Tonight, wintry showers will continue but it should become dry by dawn.

Wind will ease later in the night to give a chance of frost.

Last night many households across Calderdale suffered intermittent loss of power due to the high winds which wreaked havoc around the country.

Northern Powergrid mobilised additional resources ahead of the strong winds to carry out repairs.

The storms left one man dead and tens of thousands without power as winds reached 108 mph.

Train and bus services were severely disrupted last night with some passengers having to leave trains on-route.

And Crewe station was evacuated after roof panels fell onto overhead lines causing a small fire.

This morning there is disruption on the East Coast line between Wakefield Westgate and Leeds and between Doncaster and Leeds due to overhead power line problems at Fitzwilliam.

On the M62 there is heavy traffic eastbound between J25, A644 (Brighouse) and J26, M606 (Chain Bar).
