A woman had to be rescued from her car after crashing down an embankment on Oldham Road in Ripponden last night (Friday).

The incident happened at around 8.30pm yesterday and involved the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, police and fire crews coming to the woman’s aid after the car ended up on its roof.

It took around 30 minutes to extracate the driver from the car before she was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with suspected back and neck injuries.
