Canalside dog attack

A DOG attack on a canal towpath has sparked a police appeal.

A couple were walking their dog along the canal towpath between Elland Bridge and Brighouse when an English Bull Terrier went for their pet.

Their dog was hurt and when they tried to move their dog away, one of the couple was also injured.

The couple say the English Bull Terrier and its owner then walked off towards Brighouse.

He has short dark hair, a full grey beard and was wearing a flat cap.

The English Bull Terrier was described as mainly white with light patches on its body.
