A pensioner had a lucky escape when a car came off the road and ploughed into her bungalow on Tuesday evening.
Firefighters, police and an ambulance were called to the property on Rochdale Road, Walsden, at 8pm after a car crashed through a set of traffic lights outside the post office and left the road before careering over a grassy verge and smashing into the front of the bungalow.
Luckily the home owner was in the kitchen at the rear of the property at the time.
One neighbour said: “If she’d have been in the front room, she would have been killed.”
Fire crews assisted in making the building safe.
The driver of the car was taken to hospital.
Any witnesses are asked to contact police via 101.
