FRIENDS gathered to raise a glass to Ireland at a celebration lunch.
The Halifax and District Irish Society provided special treats for the over-55s luncheon club at the Halifax Irish Centre, West Parade.
Live music, bingo and raffles were enjoyed as part of this week’s Irish Festival.
“We upped the ante and it was a fun day,” said Peter Timmons, of the society.
Last night a dinner was held at the Cedar Court, Ainley Top.
And tomorrow, from noon, the week culminates in five hours of entertainment at Halifax Piece Hall, which is expected to attract thousands from Calderdale and beyond for an afternoon of live music.
