A CHARITY ball will raise funds for Joshua’s Trust and the Forget-Me-Not Children’s Hospice.

The trust was formed to provide home adaptations and specialist equipment for Joshua Martina-Hopkins, of Sowerby Bridge.

He and his family are supported by the hospice.

Joshua, aged eight, caught a virus after his first birthday which has left him brain damaged with Acute Striatal Necrosis.

His mum, Michelle Martina, is organising the ball at The Venue, Barkisland, on September 29, and is appealing for raffle prizes.

She said support given from the hospice was invaluable yet less than 4 per cent of hospice funding is provided from government sources.

Tickets cost £35 and include a meal and live entertainment. The Joshua’s Trust also has wristbands for sale promoting the cause for £1.
