Charity day raises over £1,000 for Brain Tumour Research

Greetland Cricket Club raised £1054.21 for Brain Tumour Research at a charity event was in memory of Graham “Butch” Wilkins who passed away recently.

The event was attended by more than 200 people, and included live music, a children’s disco, bouncy castle and face painting,

Through out the day there was a tombola with many donated prizes including Champagne, a day at the races, meals out, cinema tickets and many more items from local businesses and individuals.

Michael Smith, Greetland Cricket section secretary, said: “I was expecting around £700, but this goes to show the generosity of the people that came to support the event and show their respects.”.
