A BRAVE youngster who lives with a neuro-muscular disease has been given a top-of-the-range computer by a wish-granting charity.

Hafzah Tariq, six, of Crestfield Crescent, Elland, wished for an iMac computer to help her with her schoolwork.

The national Make a Wish Foundation UK helped it to come true.

The youngster, who goes to Cross Lane Primary School, has a condition called nemaline myopathy which affects every muscle in her body except her heart.

She uses an electric wheelchair to move and has spent much of her life in hospital – including a seven-month stay last year after a chest infection.

Hafzah now has a brand new iMac computer to help her keep up with her studies.

Her mum, Shagufta Sharief, said: “Hafzah has been dreaming about her iMac ever since she found out her wish was to be granted and now it has she has been on it every single day.

“She absolutely loves it and loves that it gives her so much freedom and independence.”

Make A Wish Foundation UK helps children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses.

The charity aims to grant at least 1,000 wishes per year.
