A CHARITY shop has been transformed into a vintage haven after its new patron worked her retail magic.

The second floor of the RSPCA store in Queen’s Hall, King Cross, Halifax, has been turned into a thrift palace by Kate Hardcastle, of business consultancy firm Insight With Passion.

She said: “The store is beautiful. In fact the new floor used to be an old dance floor and it’s so atmospheric, with locals having fond memories from its heyday.”

Profits from the shop support the running costs of the RSPCA animal centre in Wade Street, Halifax, which cares for more than 1000 animals per year.

Anyone interested in volunteering can call into the shop or those in Brighouse, Halifax town centre, Hebden Bridge, and Ripponden. Donations can be dropped off in store, or larger items can be collected. Call 01422 362461
