Chasetown 2 FC Halifax Town 1 TOWN let a 1-0 interval lead slip as they crashed to their first defeat of the season.
Nathan Taylor fired Neil Aspin's men into a 20th-minute lead when he got on the end of a Scott Metcalfe cross.
The Shaymen should have been further ahead before half time as they continued to look comfortable.
But they allowed the home side to dominate after the break and they took full advantage with Gary Birch levelling just past the hour and fellow substitute Ben Jevons smashing home the winner six minutes from time.
