The Slightly Foxed Brewing Company is celebrating two awards at the recent York Beer Festival.

The Sowerby Bridge company were given a gold award in the specialist beers category and a silver award in the overall competition at the prestigious event.

Co-owner Matt Bell said: “We are delighted as a business not only to win a gold award for our very popular 4.5 per cent blonde fruity ale called Flying Fox, beating Saltaire Brewery into second place, but also a silver for the overall competition, again beating some very established breweries.

“This is a massive accolade for a Calderdale Brewery, and the phone has not stopped ringing since, with pubs and bars from all over the country wanting to do business, recognising the award as a reliable indicator.

“In addition, our India Pale Ale, Bengal Fox, won overall winner on the recent Newark IPA trail organised by CAMRA, again beating some stiff national competition.”
