Eastern European children’s heritage was celebrated in the heart of Halifax.
The Mikulas event showcased traditions from Czech Republic and Slovak Republic at Jubilee Children’s Centre, Lightowler Road.
More than 100 parents and carers attended with around 20 0 children who enjoyed face painting and arts and crafts.
A Czech band provided the sounds of traditional Czech and Slovak Christmas songs for all to get into the festive spirit.
Well behaved children also got an early Christmas present and centre members were in special fancy dress for the day.
Three Halifax agencies attended the event: Halifax Central Initiative, Health Visitors and community police officers.
