Children in Need Appeal 2014 raises a record-breaking £32.6 million

Fantastic fundraisers from across the UK raised an incredible £32,620,469 for BBC Children in Need.

A glittering night of family entertainment helped to raise money for disadvantaged children and young people across the country.

The star-studded extravaganza featured performances from One Direction, Cheryl, S Club 7, the Script and Gareth Malone’s All-Star Choir.

Yorkshire raised a massive £1,760,823 and fundraising hereoes right here in Calderdale got into the spirit of the day to raise thousands of pounds for the appeal.

From wacky challenges and teacher torture to superhero fancy dress and bake sales - people across the district played their part in smashing last year’s total.
