TODMORDEN Carnival Queen and her retinue have been chosen for this year’s big event.

Twelve-year-old Chloe Marie Donnelly is Queen and she will have a retinue of three princesses, her sisters Alison, ten, and Katie, eight, and ten-year-old Jessica Mae Bailey.

The town’s carnival on Saturday, May 26 at Centre Vale Park, Todmorden, is on the theme of Jubilee Olympics, meaning entries themed around the big sports event, the Queen’s special year or combining both will all be in with a chance of winning prize money.

Carnival committee chairman Philip Clarke said: “We want this to be a memorable event for the town in a big year for the community and there is lots to choose from in the theme, with prize money to be won.”
