THE crowds turned out for the a Party in the Park.

The event, held at Shroggs Park, Lee Mount, saw around 2000 people forging some community spirit.

Halifax MP, Linda Riordan, opened the party which is now into its fourth year.

Activities including a climbing wall, mobile cave and five-a-side football on a blow up pitch were the higlights of fun family day out.

Glen Roper, chairman of the organising committee, said: “We were really grateful to Linda for her support.

“The event was organised alongside three churches; St George’s, Lee Mount, Lee Mount Baptist Church and the New Beginnings Christian Centre.

“It was a great success and we hope to be back next year.”
