PUPILS took a trip back in time as they wound down for the end of school.
Key Stage 2 pupils at St John’s CE Primary School, Rishworth, put on two performances of Battle of the Bands for parents and friends of the school.
The play, set in the 1960s, told the story of two rival bands battling out for top spot - one is an all boy band and the other is as all girl group.
The audience was treated to classic 60s hits including Baby Love and Wild Thing.
It was also a chance for the children to try out the school’s newly erected stage.
Funded by the school’s Parents and Teachers Association the school hopes that the new facility will allow more performances from the pupils.
Joanne Wasyliw, from the school, said: “It was something nice for them to do as to round off a very tiring year.”
