A bank worker completed a 172 miles coast-to-coast cycle ride in support of Help for Hospices.
Nick Harrison, 36, of Barkisland, was part of a 28-strong team from Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks which raised £45,000 for the charity.
They set off from Workington and finished in Whitby.
Mr Harrison is head of proposition development in the bank’s marketing department, and said: “It was great to have been able to take part alongside my colleagues to support this extremely worthwhile cause.
“I’m really pleased to have raised £500 for Help the Hospices which was quickly turned into £1,000 thanks to match funding from my employer.”
The cyclists enjoyed the stunning landscapes of the national parks and that experience will also be enjoyed next summer by professional cyclists when the Tour de France passes through the Yorkshire Dales National Park on July 5.
Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks have supported Help the Hospices since February 2008 raising over £2.9 million including match funding for the charity.
